A 20-year-old man sustained injuries after being allegedly assaulted and stabbed during a confrontation in Juhapura on Sunday night, reportedly due to an old rivalry. Vejalpur Police have registered an FIR and initiated a probe into the incident.

The victim, Faiz Khan Pathan, a resident of Juhapura, complained to Vejalpur police while he was at Civil Hospital in Asarwa, where he was taken for treatment. In his statement, Faiz alleged that the attack occurred around 9.00 pm on May 18 while he and his friend Rehan Langa were heading out for dinner in the Juhapura area.

According to the complaint, the two were driving near Juhapura crossroads when a man identified as Rahil and two of his unidentified associates intercepted their vehicle. Rahil, known to the complainant from a prior altercation, signalled Faiz to pull over. Upon stopping, an argument ensued regarding a previous conflict. Though the confrontation initially de-escalated, Rahil and his associates allegedly returned shortly thereafter and resumed the argument near the SSP Parlour in Juhapura.

As per police officials at that point, Rahil pushed Faiz to the ground, and his brother Noman, along with another unidentified individual, started to attack him. Noman stabbed him with a knife on the right side of the body and struck his head. He added that bystanders intervened, preventing further assault. His father later arrived and took him to the Vejalpur police station, and subsequently to the hospital for medical treatment.

Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections for assault and attempt to cause grievous hurt. Investigations are underway to identify and apprehend all those involved in the attack. Authorities stated that further statements would be recorded, and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to aid the investigation.
