Man stabbed after dispute over spectacles in Juhapura, Ahmedabad

A 43-year-old man sustained multiple injuries after he was allegedly attacked with a knife following an argument over a pair of spectacles in Juhapura area of Ahmedabad on Sunday afternoon.
According to Vejalpur police, the accused has been identified as Faizullah alias Dashyo Sheikh, a resident of Juhapura.
Amjat Haider Khan Pathan alleged that the incident occurred on May 24 around 1.30 pm near the C Ward drain while he was out with his two sons and nephew.
Pathan stated that he had gone to the area for collection-related work when the accused allegedly approached him from behind, removed his spectacles and began walking away wearing them.
When Pathan asked for the spectacles to be returned, the accused allegedly began abusing him. Since his children were accompanying him, the complainant initially chose to leave the spot and return home.
However, when he later returned to the same area after completing his work, he allegedly found the accused sitting near the drain and questioned him about the earlier verbal abuse.
Police said the argument soon escalated, following which the accused allegedly pulled out a knife from his pocket and attacked the complainant.
Pathan sustained stab injuries on his forehead, left ear, behind the left ear and on his left hand while trying to defend himself. A crowd gathered at the spot after the assault, following which the accused allegedly fled.
He was shifted to Sola Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance, where doctors reportedly administered stitches to multiple wounds.
Police have registered a case and Further investigation is under way.
