Man kills son and mother with axe, dies by suicide in Sabarkantha

A gruesome incident in Sangrampura village of Khedbrahma taluka has left the community in shock after a man allegedly attacked his own family with an axe, killing his two-year-old son and mother before ending his own life.

According to preliminary information, the accused, identified as Shravan Chunabhai Gamar, suddenly turned violent late on Sunday night and launched a brutal assault on his wife Kantaben, their two-year-old son Kamlesh, and his mother Jamanaben. The young child died on the spot after sustaining fatal head injuries, while the accused’s mother was critically injured during the attack.

Kantaben, who was also severely wounded, and Jamanaben were rushed to  Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad by villagers who gathered at the scene upon hearing the commotion. However, Jamanaben succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

After carrying out the attack, Shravan Gamar reportedly died by suicide at the scene, bringing a tragic end to the horrifying episode.

Police officials, including the district superintendent and DySP, reached the village soon after being informed. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Khedbrahma Civil Hospital for post-mortem, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
