Man kills son after squabble in Bavla

The Kerala GIDC Police in Ahmedabad Rural arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly murdering his son during a domestic altercation in Kavala village of Bavla taluka.
According to police, the incident occurred late on the night of April 30, when the accused, Karamanbhai Budhabhai Mer, allegedly attacked his younger son, Ganpatbhai Karamanbhai Mer, with a wooden stick following an argument over dinner. The victim succumbed to serious head injuries at the scene.
The accused and his two sons, the elder, Mahadevbhai, and the deceased Ganpatbhai, lived together and typically cooked their meals at home. On April 28, Ganpatbhai had left the village on his motorcycle and returned around 11.30 pm on the 30th. An argument reportedly broke out when Ganpatbhai requested dinner, and Karamanbhai told him to cook for himself. The confrontation escalated, resulting in the fatal assault.
Kerala GIDC Police Station coordinated multiple police teams who worked tirelessly to track the suspect. Based on technical intelligence, Karamanbhai was apprehended in Kavala village's Bhuwavas locality around 7.20 pm on May 2.
The accused, who worked as a daily wage labourer, has no previous criminal history, police said and further investigation is ongoing.
