Man kills partner and her two-year-old daughter before ending life near Ahmedabad’s Changodar

In a shocking incident near Changodar on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, a man allegedly murdered his live-in partner and her two-year-old daughter before taking his own life inside a rented room in Lodariyal village on Friday evening.

According to police sources, the deceased have been identified as Ranchod Parmar (42), a resident of Galsana in Dhandhuka taluka; Geetaben Vaniya (35), a resident of Gomtipur, Ahmedabad; and her daughter Devanshi (2).

Preliminary investigation revealed that Rancho and Geetaben were in a relationship and had been living together in Lodariyal village for some months. Both were married earlier—Parmar had divorced his wife and was facing a maintenance case, while Geetaben’s divorce proceedings were still underway.

On Friday evening, Geetaben reportedly arrived at Parmar’s rented room along with her daughter. Soon after, locals heard no movement from the house, and police were alerted around 6:30 pm. When officers reached the spot, they found the bodies of all three—Geetaben and her daughter with throat injuries, and Parmar with self-inflicted wounds on his wrists and neck, believed to have been caused using a paper cutter.

A 10-page suicide note was recovered from the scene, in which Parmar reportedly described his relationship with Geetaben and the emotional turmoil that led to the incident. Police suspect that Parmar first killed Geetaben and her daughter before ending his own life.

Investigators are also examining whether Geetaben’s alleged relationship with another man may have triggered the murders.

District Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat, who visited the scene along with FSL officials and revenue officers, said, “Based on information received around 6:30 pm, police reached a rented room opposite an HP petrol pump on the Sanand–Bavla Road in Lodariyal village and found the bodies of a man, woman, and child. A suicide note has been recovered, and legal procedures are underway.”

The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and further investigation is being conducted by the Changodar police to verify the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
