Man kills brother-in-law on Bhai Dooj over minor dispute in Surat

A man was brutally killed by his brother-in-law following an argument over a minor family dispute in Surat’s Athwalines area Bhai Dooj on Thursday.

As per the police, the victim, Suresh Rathod, had confronted his brother-in-law Lala Vasava for allegedly beating his own daughter — Suresh’s niece. 

The remark reportedly enraged Vasava, who in a fit of anger, attacked Suresh with a blunt object. The blow proved fatal, killing Suresh on the spot.

Following the incident, Vasava fled the scene. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information, sent the body for post-mortem, and recorded statements from family members. A case of murder was registered, and within hours, police managed to track down and arrest the accused.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
