Man jumps to death from 14th floor of South Bopal apartment, reason unknown

In a tragic incident reported from Ahmedabad’s South Bopal area, a man allegedly ended his life by jumping from the 14th floor of a residential building on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Amitkumar Singh (46), a resident of Marigold Apartments, where the incident took place.
According to police, the incident occurred around 8 am on Tuesday when Singh reportedly leapt from staircase lobby of flat, on the 14th floor of the tower. The impact proved fatal, and he was rushed to the Saraswati Hospital in Bopal where he was declared dead by doctors.
After residents heard a loud sound, they checked and immediately alerted the society’s security and local authorities.
The Bopal police have registered a case of accidental death and begun preliminary inquiries to ascertain the motive behind the suicide. “We have taken statements from the victim's wife and neighbours and are in the process to understand any possible stress or personal reasons that may have led to this step,” a senior official said.
Police have not found any suicide note as yet. The body has been sent for post-mortem at the Sola Civil Hospital.
