Man fractures arm after roadside argument over parking, FIR registered

A 57-year-old man sustained serious injuries, including a fractured right arm and dislocated shoulder, following a violent altercation over a parking dispute outside his residential society in Chanakyapuri. The Sola High Court Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

The incident took place on the morning of May 19, when Ashokbhai Ladhubhai, a resident of Dhanjikaka Nagar, was attempting to drive out of his society in his Maruti Suzuki Celerio car. However, the exit was blocked by a Bullet motorcycle allegedly parked in the middle of the road by a local youth, identified as Vishal Rabari.

According to the FIR filed by Ashokbhai’s wife, Hasumatiben, her husband politely asked Vishal to move his motorcycle to clear the road. This reportedly enraged Vishal, who began hurling abuses at the couple. Matters quickly escalated when the Ladhubhai’s son, Siddharth, his wife Dhruvi, and other family members intervened.

During the confrontation, Vishal's friend — identified only as “Joy”, aged between 25 and 30 — arrived at the scene and allegedly joined in the altercation. The two men reportedly shoved Ashokbhai forcefully to the ground, causing him to sustain injuries to both hands. He was unable to stand up unaided.

The injured man was helped up by relatives and neighbours before being rushed to Artha Hospital in Ghatlodia, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a fractured right arm and a dislocated shoulder. His condition is currently stable, but he remains under medical supervision.

The complainant also reported that during the scuffle, the accused issued threats, saying "You won’t survive", before fleeing the scene. Siddharth, the victim’s son, immediately contacted the police control room.

Based on the preliminary investigation and medical findings, the police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC for assault, criminal intimidation, and causing grievous hurt and started a investigation.

Police are currently trying to trace the whereabouts of the accused, who fled the scene after the altercation. Officials stated that CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed, and statements from eyewitnesses are being recorded.
