Man booked for threatening former in-laws in Juhapura

The Vejalpur police in Ahmedabad have registered a case against a man for allegedly threatening his estranged wife’s family outside their residence in the early hours of Thursday.

As per the complaint filed by Zakir Hussain of Juhapura, his son-in-law Ayan Khan Pathan arrived outside their home around 3 am on October 23 and began shouting abuses and issuing death threats.

Hussain stated that Khan called out for him and his sons to come out of the house, allegedly shouting, “If you come out today, I’ll kill you.” Fearing an escalation, the family chose to remain indoors until Khan left.

The complainant further told police that his daughter, Rehnuma, had been living with them for the past eight months following marital disputes with Ayan Khan. A case related to alleged physical and mental harassment is already pending before the court, he added.

Hussain claimed that Khan repeatedly came to his house and issued threats in the past. Following the latest incident, he called the police control room, after which a patrol team reached the spot. Hussain then went to the Vejalpur police station along with his son and filed the formal complaint.

Police have registered an offence against Ayan Khan Pathan and is further investigating.
