Man bites off police constable's nose during detention in Naroda

A police constable sustained injuries after being bitten on the nose by a man during an intervention in a domestic dispute in the Naroda area of Ahmedabad. The accused, identified as 'Geba', has been detained and booked following the incident.
According to police sources, Geba had a heated altercation with his mother at their residence. His mother, distressed by the argument, sent a message to the police control room seeking assistance. Responding promptly, a police van from the Naroda police station was dispatched to the location.
When officers arrived and attempted to escort Geba into the police vehicle to defuse the situation, he reportedly turned violent. While seated inside the vehicle, Geba suddenly bit the police constable sitting next to him on the left side of his nose, causing a deep laceration. The constable was rushed for immediate medical treatment.
Following the attack, Geba was restrained and taken to the police station. FIRs have been registered based on complaints by both the injured officer and the accused’s mother.
Police officials also confirmed that, in a bid to evade custody, Geba inflicted self-injuries on his arm using a blade. He has since been provided medical attention and remains in custody.
