Man attacked with knife after honking at car blocking road in Anandnagar

32-year-old man was injured after he was allegedly assaulted with a knife by the driver of a Maruti Suzuki Swift, who also abused and threatened him, following a dispute over a car parked on a public road near Jodhpur circle in Anandnagar on Friday morning.
According to the FIR registered at Anandnagar police station, the complainant, Jigarbhai Suthar, a resident of Jodhpur Gaam, was travelling with his wife, Aarzu, to his office around 11.30 am when they encountered a black Maruti Swift stopped in the middle of the road near Satyam Complex.
When Jigarbhai honked to alert the driver, the man allegedly reversed his car and later parked it at the roadside. On asking him to move, the driver began hurling abuses. Jigarbhai parked his own car and approached the Swift driver, who then stepped out and allegedly assaulted him, striking him on the head with a knife and threatening to kill him.
Bystanders intervened and separated the men. Jigarbhai’s wife rushed him to a private hospital near Karnavati Club, where he was treated and discharged for a head injury.
The accused, whose identity is yet to be established beyond the vehicle registration number, fled the spot. Police have booked him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault and criminal intimidation, and said efforts are on to trace and arrest him.
Anandnagar police stated that the complaint has been recorded and an investigation is underway.
