Man abducted, beaten in Surat, asked to pay ₹1 crore
A man in Surat was abducted by his own friend over an unpaid betting debt.
In Nana Varachha, Surat, Akash Kukadia was abducted by his friend Kushal Savaliya, along with Hardik Khuman, and Keval Kakadia, due to an unpaid ₹2.5 lakh debt related to an online betting app.
Kukadia was kidnapped by Savaliya and his accomplices near Kapodra Char Rasta while he was returning home after lunch and heading towards his office around 1.45 pm.
The group took him in a car to an isolated location, where they demanded ₹1 crore, claiming that Kukadia had received ₹10 crore from Rajkot. They also informed that two people had been poisoned due to his unpaid debt. While making these threats, they continued to beat Kukadia.
After some time, they dropped him near Abrama village, Valsad. They gave him a shirt and fled the scene.
Kukadia immediately contacted his friend and informed him of the incident. A complaint was filed with the police, and within hours, the individuals involved were arrested.
