Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Gujarat involving 13 IAS officers

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle announced on Tuesday, the Gujarat government has transferred and reassigned several senior IAS officers across key departments, including Urban Development, Panchayats, Finance, Rural Development, and Energy. 

The notification for the same was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) in Gandhinagar.

Ashwani Kumar, IAS (RR:GJ:1997), Principal Secretary to Government, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department vice M. Thennarasan, IAS transferred.

Ashwani Kumar, IAS (RR:GJ:1997) would continue to hold additional charge of the post of Principal Secretary to Government, Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs Department until further orders even after his appointment as Principal Secretary to Government, Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department.

Ramesh Chand Meena, IAS (RR:GJ:1997), Principal Secretary to Government, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department would hold additional charge of the post of Principal Secretary to Government, Ports and Transport Department until further orders relieving Ashwani Kumar, IAS of additional charge of that post.

M. Thennarasan, IAS (RR:GJ:2000), Principal Secretary to Government, Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department vice Ashwani Kumar, IAS transferred.

Milind Shivaram Torawane, IAS (RR:GJ:2000), Managing Director, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (GSPC), Gandhinagar is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Panchayats, Rural Housing & Rural Development Department vice Manisha Chandra, IAS transferred.

Milind Shivaram Torawane, IAS (RR:GJ:2000) would hold additional charge of the post of Commissioner of Rural Development & Principal Secretary to Government (Rural Development) until further orders relieving Manisha Chandra, IAS of additional charge of that post.

Milind Shivaram Torawane, IAS (RR:GJ:2000) would hold additional charge of the post of Managing Director, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (GSPC), Gandhinagar until further orders.

Arti Kanwar, IAS (RR:GJ:2001), Secretary to Government, Finance Department (Economic Affairs) would hold additional charge of the post of Secretary to Government, Finance Department (Expenditure) until further orders vice K.K. Nirala, IAS transferred.

Jenu Devan, IAS (RR:GJ:2006), Superintendent of Stamps & Inspector General of Registration, Gandhinagar would hold additional charge of the post of Managing Director, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., Vadodara until further orders vice Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar, IAS transferred.

Prabhav Joshi, IAS (RR:GJ:2014), Collector, Rajkot is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Industries & Mines Department for appointment as Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd., Gandhinagar vice Sandipnili Chhakhchhuak, IAS transferred.

Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar, IAS (RR:GJ:2016) Managing Director, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., Vadodara is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Urban Development & Urban Housing Department for appointment as Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Junagadh vice Om Prakash, IAS transferred.

Dr Om Prakash, IAS (RR:GJ:2016) Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Junagadh is transferred and appointed as Collector, Rajkot vice Prabhav Joshi, IAS transferred.

Ashish Kumar, IAS (RR:GJ:2014), Collector, Panchmahals-Godhra is transferred and appointed as Director, Tribal Development, Gandhinagar relieving Suresh Singh Gulat, IAS of additional charge of that post.
