LS polls: 32 candidates with criminal charges in Gujarat

With the conclusion of the nomination verification process in the state, 266 contenders have been finalised for the Gujarat seats. Over 10% from these candidates– 32, have criminal cases registered against them.
As per the data provided by the Election Commission, 15 out of 32 are from independent candidates, three are from BJP, six from Congress, and one is from AAP.
Stalwart leaders, including union home minister Amit Shah, AAP leader Chaitar Vasava, Congress leader Geni Thakor, etc., are on the list of leaders with criminal charges.
Out of 15 opposition candidates with criminal backgrounds, three hail from Surendranagar, two from Sabarkantha, two from Gandhinagar, two from Bharuch, and one each from Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Kheda, Jamnagar, Porbandar, and Anand.
