Gujarat health minister Rushikesh Patel requested the CM to commission a study into the incidents of girls eloping for marriage to create a system wherein the approval of parents is compulsory for love marriage.
“If the Constitution supports it, then we will carry out a study regarding this and try to get the best result for it,” Patel reportedly said.
Opposition leader Khedawala supports CM
Meanwhile, Congress MLA Imran Khedawala said that if this bill is presented in the Vidhan Sabha, then it has my support. He reportedly said, “This is an urgent need in today’s times. At times when parents are neglected in love marriages, the government is thinking of creating a specific system regarding love marriages through the constitution.”
