On the last day of form nomination form filling in Gujarat, union home minister and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat candidate Amit Shah fills out nomination form today.

After grand rallies and roadshows in Vejalpur, Sabarmati, Sanand, Kalol, Ghatlodia, and Naranpura on Apr 18, Shah has filed his nomination at 12.39 p.m., an auspicious time as per a mahurat, at the Gandhinagar collector’s office today.

The capital city is often regarded as Shah's stronghold in both assembly and general elections.

"It is matter of honour for me to contest from the seat that was LK Advani's constituency once. I also represent the seat where prime minister Narendra Modi is a registered voter," said Shah while talking to media.

"I have been MP of Gandhinagar constituency for 30 years," he added.

While Shah's Congress counterpart Sonal Patel had filed her nomination at Gandhinagar on Apr 16.
