Loan sharks attack senior citizen in Adalaj, family alleges extortion of over ₹40 lakh

In a terrifying incident in Adalaj, a senior citizen was allegedly attacked by loan sharks, who reportedly barged into the victim’s home wielding a knife. The entire episode was captured on CCTV, revealing the intensity of the assault.

As per the complaint filed with the Adalaj police, the family’s son had borrowed ₹20 lakh from the accused Vishal Desai, Anand Desai, and Chetan Desai at an interest rate of 10 per cent. The family alleged that over the course of the week, they had paid a total of ₹40 lakh as interest to the lenders.

The victim’s family claimed that, in a bid to help a friend, the son had become entangled with the lenders. The accused allegedly forced their way into the house, threatened the residents with a knife, and during the altercation, the senior citizen’s daughter-in-law was injured in her hand.

The incident has left the family in a state of fear and distress. The Adalaj police have registered a case in connection with the financial dispute and are investigating the matter.
