Liquor worth rs 3 lakh seized from secret tank beneath false toilet seat

The Ahmedabad Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) on Sunday seized 792 bottles and tins of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth ₹2.76 lakh from a house in Chunaravas, Bareja village, where the accused had allegedly built a storage tank hidden beneath a false Indian toilet seat.

Acting on specific and credible information, a team raided the premises. The operation was carried out as part of a district-wide crackdown on illegal liquor and gambling dens, initiated under the directives of Inspector General Vidhi Chaudhary and Ahmedabad Rural Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat.

During the search, police discovered that the accused had devised an elaborate concealment method—constructing a secret underground tank within the house and disguising its entrance with a false Indian-style toilet seat to evade detection. The hidden compartment contained both large and small bottles of IMFL along with beer tins, which were subsequently seized.

An FIR has been registered, and police said further investigation is underway to determine the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the illicit liquor trade in the district.
