Lioness kills seven-year-old girl in Amreli

A seven-year-old girl was attacked and killed by a lioness near Kanthariya Khalsa village in the Amreli-Jafrabad area.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a woman from Kanthariya Khalsa village was returning from the fields with her young daughter. Suddenly, a lioness attacked the girl and dragged her away in front of her mother.

Upon reaching the scene, the Forest Department found the remains of the deceased minor. 

MLA Hira Solanki of Rajula, Jafrabad, and Khambha , the villagers, and Forest Department officials rushed to the scene and initiated a search.

Forest Department personnel are currently working to track the lioness’s location. A few days ago, a lion attacked a person in the nearby village of Jikadri.

The forests of the Saurashtra region are home to Asiatic lions, and they are frequently spotted in the village areas. The lions often stray from the jungle into inhabited areas in search of prey and water.
