Lights and crowd grace Ahmedabad streets as festival season begins

With the festival of Diwali just days away, major markets across Ahmedabad witnessed massive crowds on Sunday as shoppers came out for festive shopping.

From Bhadra and Teen Darwaza to CG Road, Satellite, and Maninagar, markets were packed till late at night, leaving little room to walk. Traders reported strong sales in clothing, electronics, decorations, and household goods, saying that the weekend rush brought much-needed cheer ahead of the festive season.

Families and shoppers took advantage of the weekend holiday to complete their festival shopping, leading to bustling scenes in more than two dozen markets across the city.

As Ahmedabad gears up for six days of Diwali festivities, traders say the shopping spirit is likely to remain high, with another surge expected during the Dhanteras weekend.
