Light to moderate rain predicted for Gujarat in the second half of September

Even as the monsoon season winds down, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall across Gujarat for the next seven days. A yellow alert has been issued for Navsari and Valsad districts in South Gujarat on September 25 and 26 due to the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated places.

According to the IMD forecast, most of South Gujarat, along with parts of Saurashtra, Central Gujarat, and North Gujarat, are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms until September 26.

Besides Valsad and Navsari, South Gujarat districts like Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, and the Dangs are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall at various places.

Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Botad in Saurashtra, and Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar in Central Gujarat, along with Sabarkantha and Aravalli in North Gujarat, are likely to witness light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at isolated places.

Meanwhile, Kutch, Morbi, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, and Patan districts are not expected to receive any rainfall.

Overall, the state has already received more than 43% of its total rainfall, with Saurashtra and Kutch recording an impressive 73%.
