Light rain likely to continue in Ahmedabad until November 3

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast unseasonal rainfall across districts in Gujarat until November 3.
Heavy rain is likely in Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu on Friday.
Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind of 30-40 kmph accompanied by light to moderate rain is likely on Friday in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch and Diu.
Rainfall is predicted in parts of Gujarat until November 3.

Meanwhile, the weather in Ahmedabad remained cloudy accompanied by cold winds and light drizzling on Friday.
On Thursday, Ahmedabad saw dark, looming clouds and light drizzle since morning. Cool winds blew across the city, and the rainfall led to reduced visibility, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Between 6 am and 8 pm, the city received an average of 3.49 mm of rainfall, taking the total rainfall for the season to 43.60 inches. Even after the Diwali festival, the blessings of the rain god continued to be felt in the city. Although the entire city experienced a rainy atmosphere since morning, no significant rainfall was recorded till night.

Residents waiting for a good spell of rain had to settle for light showers throughout the day.
1,644 cusecs of water released into Sabarmati River
The irrigation department informed local authorities to take necessary safety precautions in low-lying areas following the release of 1,644 cusecs of water into the Sabarmati River. At 8 pm, the water level at Vasna Barrage was recorded at 136.25 feet. The inflow from Sant Sarovar was 1,362 cusecs, while the outflow in the river was 1,644 cusecs. Two gates of the barrage were opened.
