Leopard Caged in Vapi’s Salvav After Sightings Spark Fear Among Residents

A leopard spotted roaming in Dhodiawad, Salvav, two to three days ago was captured by the forest department on Saturday evening, bringing relief to residents.

Leopard Sightings Trigger Panic

The leopard was reportedly seen in the residential area of Dhodiawad, which falls under the Vapi Municipal Corporation limits. News of the animal’s movement quickly spread through the locality, leaving residents concerned about their safety.

After being informed, a forest department officer and team reached the area and began efforts to trace and capture the animal.

Leopard Trapped in Cage

As part of the operation, the forest department installed a cage in the area. The leopard was successfully trapped on Saturday evening.

Residents, including local leaders, gathered after learning that the animal had been captured. Those who saw the leopard inside the cage were left shocked by the close encounter.

The forest department took custody of the leopard and arranged for a veterinary examination. Officials are expected to complete the required procedures before releasing the animal in a safe forested area
