In an incident that has raised concerns about rising street crime in the city, two persons sustained bullet injuries after three rounds of firing were reported late Friday night in the Patwa Sheri area near the Italian Bakery in Ahmedabad. The firing is believed to be the result of a financial dispute amounting to ₹8 crore between business associates involved in a construction partnership.

According to police sources, the incident occurred during a heated confrontation over unsettled accounts between parties allegedly involved in the real estate sector. The accused, identified as Zahuruddin Kaburuddin Nagori, reportedly opened fire during the argument.

The victims have been identified as Nazirkhan Pathan, believed to be one of the parties to the dispute, and an unidentified pedestrian, who was caught in the crossfire. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and are currently under medical care.

Police said that preliminary investigations suggest that the dispute stemmed from long-standing disagreements over profit-sharing and outstanding dues in a construction project. The situation escalated when the accused allegedly drew a firearm and fired multiple rounds at the site of the altercation.

Soon after the incident, a team from Karanj police station reached the spot and cordoned off the area with barricades. Forensic experts were called in, and CCTV footage from nearby establishments is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The police have launched a manhunt for the accused Jaharuddin Nagori, who fled the scene after the firing.

Senior police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing and action will be taken against all those involved in the violent confrontation.
