Land grabbing complaint filed against advocate in Ahmedabad

A complaint has been filed under the Land Grabbing Act against Advocate Ravi Jadeja by a company with the Ahmedabad District Collector, alleging illegal possession of a luxury flat worth crores in the Satellite area of Ahmedabad.
According to the complaint, the luxury flat in Scarlet Heights, located in Ahmedabad’s Satellite area, is jointly owned by the NKPL realty firm’s partners Ashita Patel and Sonal Patel.
The flat was rented to Jadeja in June 2020 under a lease agreement with a monthly rent of ₹58,000. The lease expired in 2021, and as per the agreement, he was supposed to vacate the property.
However, Jadeja has allegedly not vacated the flat to date and has not paid the agreed rent either. From July 1, 2021 to November 30, 2023 (a total of 29 months), over ₹16 lakh in unpaid rent has accumulated.
When asked to vacate the property, Jadeja allegedly threatened the company representatives, stating, “If you want the flat or the pending rent, go file a case in court. This property now belongs to me.”
The company claims that after the rental agreement expired, the advocate neither vacated the premises nor paid the rent, and instead unlawfully took over the property.
Previously, complaints were also submitted against Jadeja to the Bar Council of Gujarat, the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad, and the Bar Council of India, among other authorities.
It is alleged that after the lease period ended, the advocate neither vacated the flat nor continued rent payments. On the contrary, he allegedly threatened and harassed the company’s representatives.
The NKPL realty has also requested disciplinary action from the Bar Council of Gujarat under Section 35 of the Advocates Act for professional misconduct.
Since there has been no resolution from the police or authorities so far, the company has now approached the District Collector, demanding action under the Land Grabbing Act.
