On the auspicious occasion of Poshi Poonam today, the Santram Temple witnessed a flood of devotion. Lakhs of devotees from around Gujarat gathered to seek the blessings of Santram Maharaj.

From the early hours of the morning, as the temple doors opened, long queues of devotees were seen stretching from the sanctum sanctorum to the main entrance. Pilgrims arrived from various regions, including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Saurashtra–Kutch, chanting “Jai Maharaj” while participating in traditional rituals.

Poshi Poonam is regarded as the holiest day of the year. A key celebratory tradition involves tossing bor (jujube berries) into the air. This centuries-old ritual is performed to fulfill prayers and wishes.

Devotees—especially parents of children who have speech difficulties—recite a specific mantra for the child’s well-being. After chanting the mantra, they proceed for darshan of the divine flame.

Following darshan, devotees gather in the temple square and, as an act of faith, toss the bor into the air, symbolizing their prayers reaching the divine.

Since the darshan of the divine flame lit in the temple holds special significance, devotees stood in queues for hours, eager to have darshan.

Special arrangements were made by the temple administration and volunteers to ensure the safety and security of the devotees. On the occasion of Poshi Poonam, the city of Nadiad was transformed into a magical place, where everyone—forgetting distinctions of rich and poor—was immersed in the spirit of service and devotion.
