A 41-year-old labourer from Danilimda suffered multiple stab wounds on Tuesday evening after he allegedly asked two men to move their scooter blocking the public pathway near Shah Alam Toll Road. Police said the attackers, a father–son duo known to the victim, assaulted him with a knife in a fit of rage, causing serious injuries to his chest, wrists, abdomen and head.

As per the FIR lodged at Kagdapith Police Station, the victim, Jayantibhai Babubhai Thakor, a resident of Bhilvas near Swaminarayan College, was on his way to pick up his two children from Sardar Patel School around 5.30 pm when the incident occurred.

Jayantibhai told police that as he approached the public road near the BRTS stop ahead of Ramapir Temple, he found Kalpesh Ranchhodbhai Bhil and Dhruv Kalpeshbhai Bhil, both residents of Bhilvas in Danilimda, sitting on their scooter and obstructing the passage. When he requested them to move aside, the two allegedly became enraged and began abusing him.

When the victim objected to the verbal abuse, the situation escalated. In his statement, Jayantibhai said Kalpesh allegedly pulled out a knife, while Dhruv held him from behind. Kalpesh first stabbed him in the fingers of his right hand, and then on the left side of his chest and abdomen.

Dhruv then allegedly took the knife from Kalpesh and continued the assault, stabbing him on the right side of his chest, the left wrist and the left side of his abdomen. The victim also suffered a head injury during the attack.

Bleeding heavily, Jayantibhai collapsed on the pavement. Bystanders alerted the emergency services, and an 108 ambulance shifted him to SVP Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Police said he was conscious when the FIR was recorded.

Inspector S A Gohil of Kagdapith Police Station said the accused have been booked for a violent, coordinated knife attack that could have proved fatal. A case has been registered under sections related to attempt to murder and assault with deadly weapons.

Police said the accused are known in the locality, and efforts are under way to trace and arrest them.
