L J College student's Thar SUV smashed as road rage escalates in Paldi, 15 booked

A 19-year-old student from Khamasa has filed a detailed First Information Report (FIR) alleging that he and his friends were assaulted by a group of men, and that their vehicle was vandalised late on Thursday night near Vishwakunj Char Rasta in Ahmedabad.
As per the FIR lodged on November 21 at Paldi police station, complainant Mohammad Ziyan Vora, a second-year BCom student at L J College, stated that he, along with his friend Saad Sheikh, was travelling in his Mahindra Thar on the night of November 20 to attend the wedding of his friend Bilal Maqsudbhai Mansuri.
The complaint states that around 11 pm, as they approached Baliyadev Mandir, Vishwakunj Char Rasta, an Activa rider allegedly stopped abruptly in the middle of the road. This sudden halt caused the scooter’s pillion rider to fall.
Vora wrote that he immediately halted his vehicle and helped the woman stand, but the Activa rider allegedly slapped him. Within moments, three men standing nearby reportedly joined in and began assaulting him. When his friends attempted to intervene, they too were allegedly beaten.
The situation escalated, and around “ten more men” arrived at the spot and allegedly continued the assault, hurling abuses and restraining the group from leaving even after an emergency ambulance had been called for the injured woman.
The complainant added that when he phoned his father for help, the group allegedly assaulted him as well. His friend then dialled the emergency number 112, following which a police team arrived at the location.
Before police intervention, the mob allegedly vandalised the car, smashing the front and rear windows. The complainant estimates the damage to be around ₹85,000.
Police later took the complainant and his friends to safety and advised them to lodge a formal complaint.
His FIR names the Activa rider and 15 unidentified individuals for allegedly abusing, assaulting, and vandalising his vehicle. Police officials at Paldi station said the matter is under investigation and statements from the complainant’s friends have been recorded as witnesses.
