Kuwait–Delhi Indigo flight makes emergency landing in Ahmedabad after bomb scare

An Indigo Airlines flight operating from Kuwait to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad early on Friday after a bomb threat was reported onboard, officials said.
The aircraft, operating as Indigo flight 6E 1232, landed safely around 6.40 am with 180 passengers on board. Airport authorities said the emergency landing was carried out as a precautionary measure after a handwritten note on a tissue paper threatening the presence of a bomb was found inside the aircraft.
Sources said the pilot immediately alerted air traffic control following the discovery of the threat, after which standard emergency protocols were activated. The aircraft was diverted to Ahmedabad, where security agencies were placed on high alert ahead of the landing.
“All passengers were safely deboarded and moved to a secure area. There have been no reports of injuries or panic,” a police official said.
Following the landing, bomb disposal squads, CISF personnel, airport security staff and local police teams rushed to the spot. A thorough anti-sabotage and security check of the aircraft is currently underway, officials confirmed. Luggage and cargo are also being screened as part of the standard operating procedure.
Airport sources said flight operations at Ahmedabad airport continued without major disruption, though security measures were intensified for a brief period in the morning.
Further details are awaited as the investigation into the threat continues.
Authorities said the nature and origin of the bomb threat note are being examined, and action will be taken based on the findings of the security agencies.
