At Sanskar College, located near Bhuj Airport Road, Sakshi, a resident of Gandhidham, was studying in her first year of BSc. As she was pursuing her studies in Bhuj, she was staying in a girls’ boarding hostel.

Mohit, also a resident of Gandhidham, was a neighbor of the Bhanushali family. As Sakshi was staying near the college in Bhuj, he repeatedly asked her to leave her studies and return to Gandhidham to stay with him. He also threatened that if she did not return, he would inform her parents about their relationship.

As the threats increased, Sakshi informed her mother, who advised her to block Mohit. After she blocked his number, Mohit, along with his friend Jayesh, went to the college on a bike.

Around 5.30 in the evening, when Sakshi had finished her classes and was leaving the premises to return to her hostel, Mohit tried to stop her. When she did not stop, he slit her throat in anger, killing her. When her friend Jayesh tried to intervene, Mohit stabbed him as well, injuring him on his back.

As both were injured, Mohit left the knife and bike at the spot and fled.

An official complaint was registered at A Division Police Station by Sakshi’s father, Jethalal Bhanushali. The police registered a case against Mohit and Jayesh and arrested Mohit in the case. Due to injuries, Jayesh was admitted to the hospital and is now out of danger.
