Kraft Heinz, the world’s fifth-largest food company, has commenced its operations in India by establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Ahmedabad.

The company also aims to expand across Gujarat in the coming three years, recruiting a significant professional workforce.

Kraft Heinz signs MoU with Guj Govt

Kraft Heinz, an American multinational food company, merged into one entity from Kraft Foods and HJ Heinz Company in 2015. It now ranks among the top food companies in the world.

Its arms are across the globe in the form of GCCs, which are commonly delegated as offshore units of global multinational corporations. The company is now set to expand its operations in India, with a GCC being set up near Ahmedabad.

It has also signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to recruit more than 1,800 professionals in the state over the next three years. The MoU was signed in the presence of chief minister Bhupendra Patel and minister of labour and employment Balwant Singh Rajput.

Aims to centralise operations through the centre

Serge de Vos, head of global business services at Kraft Heinz Company, said, “After initial discussions, we immediately took the decision and set up our first GCC in the state in a span of six months.”

He added that “The city’s strategic location, strong infrastructure, and skilled talent pool made it an ideal choice for the company for its operations like IT, analytics, global business services, finance, and supply chain.”

The Kraft Heinz GCC is set to centralise business functions such as IT, finance, global business solutions (GBS), and supply chain. It will focus on operational efficiency, innovation, and the utilisation of local talent and resources.
