The Additional District Court in Kapadvanj has rejected the bail plea of former Behrampura councillor Tasnimalam Tirmizi, accused of using forged documents to falsely claim farmer status and illegally insert his name into revenue records.

The court upheld the earlier order of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, which had also denied bail to the accused. The accused had challenged the lower court’s decision in the district court.

The accused was arrested following an FIR registered at Atarsumba Police Station in 2026. He faces serious charges under Sections 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using forged document as genuine) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the prosecution, Tirmizi allegedly produced a forged pedigree document (Pedhinama) in Punadara village to establish himself as an heir of the original landowners. Using this fabricated claim, he reportedly manipulated revenue records to get himself recognised as a ‘farmer’. This status was then allegedly used to acquire agricultural land in both Punadara and Lalmandva villages.
