Kalupur Railway Station works disrupt services, five trains to Vatva cancelled

Rail services in and around Ahmedabad faced significant disruption on Saturday as five trains scheduled to terminate at Vatva station were cancelled due to technical reasons, amid ongoing redevelopment work at Kalupur Railway Station.
Kalupur station is currently undergoing major renovation, resulting in trains being diverted to Vatva, Maninagar and Sabarmati stations. Sudden changes to routes and termination points have caused inconvenience to passengers, many of whom were forced to make last-minute travel arrangements with their families and luggage.
As per railway officials, composite steel girders are being installed for the span of a foot overbridge between platforms six and ten at Kalupur station. So, two trains scheduled to arrive at Kalupur on January 18 will operate only up to Vatva.
The Valsad–Ahmedabad 19033 Gujarat Queen Express and the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad 22953 Gujarat Superfast Express will both short-terminate at Vatva instead of Kalupur on the day.
In addition, five trains that were scheduled to operate up to Vatva have been cancelled for the day. These include the 20959/20960 Valsad–Vadnagar–Valsad Intercity Superfast Express, the 19036/19035 Maninagar–Vadodara–Vatva Intercity Express, the 69101/69102 Vadodara–Vatva–Vadodara MEMU, the 69115/69130 Vadodara–Vatva–Anand MEMU, and the 59549/59550 Vadodara–Vatva–Vadodara Sankalp Fast Passenger.
Services from Vadodara, Anand, Valsad and Vadnagar were particularly affected, with several trains not running for the day. The railway administration stated that the five Vatva-bound trains were cancelled due to technical reasons linked to the ongoing construction work.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest train status before commencing their journeys, as further changes may be implemented during the redevelopment of Kalupur Railway Station.
