Juvenile accused in Seventh Day School murder sent to protection home for 14 days

The accused juvenile in the murder of fellow student Nayan Santani at the Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokhra was sent to 14 days of counselling in child protection home.
The accused was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in Khanpur on Friday under a heavy police security.
After hearing the parties, the Juvenile Justice Board sent the juvenile, who was in conflict with the law, to a child protection home.
Due to security reasons, no one except the complainant's advocate and the juvenile's advocate was allowed to enter the Juvenile Justice Board. Not only this, the police were also allowed to enter in plain clothes. While the police personnel and officers who came in uniform were kept standing outside the Juvenile Justice Board.
After the counselling for 14 days, a detailed report will be presented to the board regarding the juvenile's behavior and other details of the incident.
The Class 8 student, currently in custody, has been booked for murder under relevant sections of the BNS and the Juvenile Justice Act for killing Nayan Santani, a fellow class 10 student, over a minor scuffle in the school.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage across the city, with the victim’s family demanding the death penalty for the accused and closure of the school.
The Crime Branch is continuing its probe into the role of others allegedly involved, including claims by the family that more minors were part of the assault.
