The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday trapped and arrested a junior clerk of the Kalyanpur Taluka Panchayat office, Devbhumi Dwarka while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 for issuing certificates related to agricultural land records.

The accused has been identified as Ravi Bharadiya (34), a Class-III Junior Clerk posted at the Kalyanpur Taluka Panchayat Office.

According to the ACB, the complainant required certificates stating that no government ‘Tagavi’ (agricultural loan) dues were pending against the agricultural land of his clients.

Investigators said the accused allegedly demanded ₹1,000 per certificate to process and issue the documents in a timely manner. Since three certificates were required, the total bribe amount allegedly demanded was ₹3,000.

Complainant approaches ACB

Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau and lodged a formal complaint.

After verifying the allegations, the ACB planned a trap operation and instructed the complainant to proceed with the agreed meeting.
