Juhapura resident stabbed by friend after he refuses to lend ₹10,000

A 28-year-old casual labourer from Juhapura sustained multiple stab wounds after he was allegedly attacked by a close friend late on Wednesday night for refusing to lend him ₹10,000. The injured man is currently undergoing treatment at Asarwa Civil Hospital, where he filed his complaint from the trauma ward.
Mohammad Naim Yasinbhai Sheikh, a resident of Juhapura, mentions in his complaint that the incident took place around 11.30 pm on December 10. Sheikh stated that he was at home with his family when his friend Hasan Ayaz, alias Raja Anda, called him and asked him to come outside.
As Sheikh stepped out, Hasan reportedly confronted him and demanded ₹10,000. Sheikh told police that he refused, saying he did not have the money at that moment. The refusal allegedly enraged Hasan, who began hurling abuses at him. When Sheikh objected, Hasan allegedly drew a knife hidden in the crease of his trousers and lunged at him. As Sheikh attempted to flee, the assailant reportedly stabbed him multiple times, causing heavy bleeding.
Hearing Sheikh’s screams, several residents rushed to the spot, prompting Hasan to flee. One of the bystanders alerted Sheikh’s younger brother, who called the 108 ambulance service. Sheikh was first taken to a nearby hospital for primary treatment and later shifted to Asarwa Civil Hospital, where he continues to receive medical care.
Vejalpur police have registered a case under relevant sections about assault and attempted murder. Further investigation is under way to nab the accused, who is currently absconding.
