Jilted lover opens fire on woman in Narol, arrested within hours

A 20-year-old woman was injured in a firing incident at Narol late Monday night after her alleged lover, upset over her engagement to another man, travelled from Madhya Pradesh and attempted to kill her.
Police said the accused, identified as Arbaaz Khan alias Bhuro Rangrez, fired a round from a country-made pistol at the woman, striking her right arm, before fleeing the spot. The injured was rushed to LG Hospital’s emergency ward, where she is undergoing treatment and is reported to be out of danger.
Following the incident, teams from Narol police station led by PI-in-charge, as well as Zone-6 DCP and his squad, reached the scene. Within hours, the Zone-6 Local Crime Branch (LCB) traced and arrested Khan, recovering the firearm used in the attack.
Investigators said preliminary probe revealed Khan was allegedly in a one-sided relationship with the woman and had planned the attack after learning of her engagement to another man.
Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. “The swift action of our teams ensured that the accused was apprehended within a few hours. Further investigation is underway,” a senior officer said.
