Amid the growing concerns of women safety across the country, a troubling incident was reported in Banaskantha’s Bhabhar where a Jain Sadhvi was molested by two unknown men, causing an uproar among the locals and the Jain community.

Reacting to the incident, Banaskantha MP Geniben Thakor called for immediate arrest of the men, saying, “Even the religious figures are not safe anymore. The police need to act quickly.”

The police have filed a complaint against the two men and have launched a search.

Earlier this month, the nation witnessed protests in many states after a doctor was brutally rape and murdered in Kolkata’s R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, bringing the discussions on the safety of women in India to the fore once again.
