Jagdish Vishwakarma set to become Gujarat’s new BJP president

Ahmedabad’s Nikol MLA  Jagdish Vishwakarma (Panchal) is set to become Gujarat's new BJP president. Panchal has already filed his nomination, and since no other candidate has come forward so far.

Panchal, who is in the textile machinery business, was born in Ahmedabad on August 12, 1973. He holds a B A degree and an MBA in Marketing. Considered a key OBC face of the Gujarat BJP, Panchal began his political journey in 1998 as a booth in-charge.

He has been elected three times as MLA from Nikol and has also served as the Ahmedabad city BJP president from 2015 to 2021. Under his leadership, the BJP secured victory in the 2021 Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections.
