It's raining beer cans on Ahmedabad road! Two women held for doing so at police

In yet another incident exposing the strain on Gujarat’s liquor prohibition system, two women allegedly hurled beer cans at police personnel during a patrol near Naroda Nana Chiloda Circle on Tuesday morning.
According to officials, a police patrol team spotted the two women carrying bags suspected to be filled with liquor. When approached, the women reportedly dropped the bags in the middle of the road and began throwing beer cans at the officers in an attempt to escape.
A brief scuffle ensued before the police managed to detain the duo. The bags, which were found to contain several tins of beer, were seized on the spot.
Naroda police have confiscated the liquor and initiated further action under relevant provisions of the Prohibition Act. Officers said an investigation is underway to identify the source of the contraband and determine whether the women are part of a larger bootlegging network.
