IPS officer Narasimha Komar assumes command in Vadodara
After the announcement of transfers on Apr 14, Komar has taken charge of Vadodara city today, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Narasimha Komar, who served as the additional director general of police (administration) in Gandhinagar, will be serving as the police commissioner of Vadodara, succeeding Anupam Singh Gahlaut.
During his interaction with the media, the newly appointed bureaucrat informed that Vadodara is the most significant city in central Gujarat and is emerging as a prominent metropolitan city.
“It is known as a culturally rich city. In the state’s administrative system, Vadodara holds crucial importance. Vadodara police has been capable of handling various types of crimes, including traditional, cyber, and financial crimes,” said Komar.
He emphasised that in the upcoming days, the focus will be on both regular policing and addressing cyber and financial crimes.
Moreover, commissioner Komar mentioned that preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are underway, with nominations already in progress.
As the implementation of the model code of conduct has begun, Vadodara police will remain active to ensure peaceful elections.
The city’s residents will receive full cooperation, and efforts will be made for their convenience. An extensive deployment of forces, intelligence, special equipment, and tools will be employed to maintain peace and order in the city.
“Being an important part of the Mumbai-Delhi economic corridor, Vadodara aces industrial, trade, and service sectors,” said Komar.
Preparations of Ram Navmi
As Komar has taken charge as the head of the city a day ahead of the Ram Navmi festival, he has ensured meticulous security arrangements with a focus on the sensitivity of the departments involved and the procession.
Efforts will be made to ensure the peaceful completion of the Ram Navmi procession.
Moreover, police will be deployed in sensitive areas, and peace and order will be maintained with the deployment of special equipment and tools.
