Police have arrested three people, including two women, from an interstate child trafficking gang. The gang was involved in kidnapping and trafficking newborn babies for lakhs of rupees across different states.

The arrested accused are linked to the Murugan gang, which is based in Telangana but was also active in Gujarat.

During the investigation, police found that the gang used to contact women who could not have children. They would take advance money and promise to provide a child as per their demand. After that, the gang’s agents would kidnap children and deliver them within 24 to 48 hours. The case came to light after a four-year-old child was kidnapped from Gujarat’s Vadgam about a month ago. Police arrested two accused, Shailesh Gamar and Pabu Gabhora, in connection with this case. The child was rescued safely.

Police also revealed that the gang had a wide network of agents in states like Delhi, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. The main mastermind, Bodashu Venkate, is still under investigation and is believed to be involved in crimes in Ahmedabad as well. Police are continuing their investigation in the child trafficking cases.
