Infant monkey rescued in Solа after being separated from mother

In an incident that residents described as nothing short of providential, an infant monkey separated from its mother was rescued in the Solа area of Ahmedabad on Monday.

The rescue operation was carried out near Silver Apple Apartments, close to Kargil Petrol Pump in Solа, after locals noticed the baby monkey crying continuously. Witnesses said the distress calls were heart-rending, with the animal appearing visibly frightened and vulnerable after being separated from its mother.

Concerned residents contacted Vijay Dabhi of Animal Life Care, who promptly reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation.

Speaking about the incident, Dabhi said the infant was extremely scared in the absence of its mother. “We ensured that the baby was rescued carefully without causing any injury. It was frightened and in distress when we reached,” he said.

After being safely secured, the infant monkey was provided with immediate feeding. It was later handed over to the Forest Department for further treatment and care.

Residents lauded the swift response, saying the timely intervention helped save the life of the young animal. Further monitoring will be undertaken by forest officials to ensure its well-being.
