An Indian woman studying in Germany shared her bitter experience with a startup employer in Munich.
Kaajal Tekwani took to her Instagram, “Imagine moving cities for a new internship and then getting fired within two days.”
She had successfully cleared multiple interview rounds, completed an assigned task to the company’s satisfaction, and even declined other job offers for this role.
At first, everything appeared positive — the company provided her accommodation and expressed appreciation for her work. But soon, the situation changed. The founder accused her of lacking “fire” and criticised her attitude. According to Tekwani, she was subjected to rude messages disguised as feedback, which ultimately led to her sudden termination.
In a follow-up video she stated that she worked remotely until September 1, after which she moved to Munich. While her first day at the office went well, on the second day she arrived a few minutes late because of an eye infection she had already informed her team about. Nevertheless, she was dismissed that very evening.
Sharing the reasons cited by the startup she said, “They gave me reasons – one is that I am not a team fit. Second is that they expected somebody with more senior knowledge and expertise. For an intern role, alright, but you have figured that out during the interview. The third reason was that I was not punctual because I was late in the first two days.”
She also captioned, “Forgot to mention, they did reimburse my travel fairs and my accommodation there but still it did cost me a lot to plan and move there until September 12, and the mental toll it takes on you is not worth it!”
