In a major crackdown on illegal liquor transportation, Dhandhuka Police of Ahmedabad Rural, seized Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth over ₹39 lakh, along with other goods and a transport vehicle, bringing the total value of the seizure to ₹46.12 lakh. One person was arrested, while two others, including the suspected kingpin, are currently absconding.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Dhandhuka division intercepted a truck near Limbdi-3 road. The truck was reportedly en route to Dhandhuka from Daman and was suspected of carrying a large consignment of illegal liquor.

Upon inspection, police discovered 12,144 bottles and cans of Indian-made foreign liquor, including quarters and beer tins, packed alongside 10,500 bottles of Aquafina-branded water—presumably used to mask the contraband. A mobile phone valued at ₹15,000 and a fake tax invoice were also recovered. The truck, estimated to be worth ₹5 lakh, was impounded.

The total haul includes IMFL: ₹39.39lakh, Aquafina Water Bottles: ₹1.57lakh, mobile phone: ₹15,000 and Truck: ₹5lakh. A total of ₹46,12 lakh worth of valuables were seized during the operation.

The arrested individual has been identified as Amrabhai Galabhai Mori alias Rabari, 29, a resident of Ranpar village, Dwarka district. According to police, he was operating the truck at the time of interception. While other two suspects are wanted in the case.

Nagabhai Rajabhai Kodiyatar, resident of Ranpar village, is believed to be a key player in the operation and an unidentified individual who is alleged to have sourced the liquor consignment from Daman. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused and unearth the full extent of the smuggling racket.
