A fresh spell of unseasonal rainfall is likely to hit parts of Gujarat on March 29 and 30, raising concerns among farmers. The forecast by the India Meteorological Department attributes the change in weather to an active western disturbance.

As per the alert, Kutch and Banaskantha districts are expected to receive rain on March 29, with authorities advising fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea. On March 30, the rainfall is likely to extend to Patan, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, and Dahod, along with Kutch and Banaskantha, with chances of light showers accompanied by thunder.

Meanwhile, the state is set to experience intense heat between March 25 and 28, with temperatures expected to touch 38°C due to changing wind patterns. The sudden shift in weather conditions has increased anxiety among farmers, particularly those engaged in summer crops and horticulture, over possible crop damage.

Weather official Ashok Kumar Das stated that conditions will remain largely dry until March 28, after which cloudiness and light rain are expected in parts of the state. He added that temperatures will remain stable for the next two days, followed by a drop of 2-3°C.

In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 36°C, with partly cloudy skies. Coastal areas are likely to witness winds blowing at 15-20 km/h, though no major warning has been issued.

The forecast has once again highlighted the impact of unpredictable weather patterns on agriculture and daily life in the state.
