Illegal weapons seized from six accused in Ahmedabad’s Vasna and Jamalpur

Weapons worth ₹2.65 lakh were seized by Local Crime Branch

A large-scale arms trafficking came to light in Ahmedabad’s Vasana and Jamalpur areas when the team of Local Crime Branch Zone-7 nabbed six accused. Pistols, revolvers, and cartridges were seized from the accused, who are speculated to be involved in arms trafficking.

Weapons worth ₹2.65 lakh were seized

The team of Local Crime Branch Zone-7 seized nine pistols and a revolver, 61 live cartridges, three empty magazines, and two mobiles from the accused. A total of seized weapons and mobile phones amounts to ₹2,65,000.

The names of the accused

  1. Shahnawaz alias Shanu Maqbul Ahmad Shaikh, 29, resident of Char Maliya, Vatva
  2. Sameer aka Sonu Rasidkhan Pathan, 30, resident of Alinagar, Vatva, and a native of Khargone, Madhya Pradesh
  3. Faran Khan Abdul Sid Khan Pathan, 33, resident of Jamalpur Paghthia
  4. Uzer Khan Nazir Khan Pathan, 26, resident of Kandoi Gali, Jamalpur
  5. Aidkhan Ayubkhan Pathan, 25, resident of Subhakhan ni Chali, Jamalpur
  6. Shahrukh Khan Md Alam Khan Pathan, 30, resident of Mochiol, Jamalpur

Vasana police have registered an Arms Act offence against all six and are taking further action and interrogation. The accused are currently being investigated under Section 25(1)(B-A), 29 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the GP Act.
