Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants re-enter Gujarat, India even after deportation

Illegal immigration of Bangladeshis has become a major problem in the country. Once deported, they return to India to earn a livelihood.
As per reports, a total of 349 Bangladeshis have been detained in Ahmedabad over the past seven years. Around 217 of them were slated for deportation.
Out of these, 118 Bangadeshis have been detained at Ahmedabad and Bhuj’s Joint Immigration Centres.
The time-consuming and cumbersome procedure of deportation usually takes months from the Centre’s end.
The local police, through the Gujarat government, process the legal documents to shift the detained Bangladeshi citizens to the central government.
Once this months-long process is completed, the respective detained Bangladeshi is taken with a special police team to the Bangladesh border and deported.
Unfortunately, there are numerous cases of deported Bangladeshi citizens re-entering India. In search of livelihood, Bangladeshis keep infiltrating Gujarat or India by changing cities. The agent system operating in crossing the border does not seem to stop the infiltration.
