IIM-A ranks among top 25 management institutes in the world

Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Ahmedabad, has been included in the top 25 business and management institutes in the world for the subject-wise rankings by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Rankings on Apr 10. IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Calcutta have also been included in the top 50 business and management studies institutes in the world.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) of New Delhi is ranked number one in India in the public reputation rankings. JNU ranks 20th in the world in terms of development studies.

Chennai-based Savita Institute of Medical Sciences and Technical Sciences was ranked 24th in the world among dental colleges.

QS CEO Jessica Turner said that one of the biggest challenges India faces is quality education. According to her, the challenge was identified in the National Education Policy 2020, which has set an ambitious target of a 50% gross enrollment ratio by 2035.

According to QS, India is one of the fastest-expanding research centres in the world. Research in India from 2017 to 2022 was more than doubled the average in India and was much higher than the Western counterparts.

India published 13 lakh academic papers in this period, which is behind China’s 45 lakh, America’s 44 lakh and Britain’s 14 lakh.
