‘If not mine, then…’ Surat man kills lover, explains motive on video

A horrifying incident has come to light in Mangrol, Surat. A college-going girl in Boria village was brutally murdered by her lover, who stabbed her in the throat and multiple parts of her body.
After committing the crime, the accused attempted suicide by slitting his own throat with a knife. He was rushed to Surat Civil Hospital, where a team of doctors performed surgery and saved his life with 40 stitches to his throat.
A video of the accused, Suresh Jogi, has surfaced. In the video, he is seen talking about his breakup with the deceased girl, Tejaswini Chaudhary. Tejaswini had blocked Jogi on social media, and when she uploaded a picture with another young man on her profile, Jogi became deeply distressed.
Tejaswini had told Jogi that she was engaged to someone else. The two had been in a relationship for six years. Jogi, unable to accept the situation, said, “If not mine, then I won’t let you be with anyone else.” The video was recorded inside a car, where Jogi expressed his sorrow and anger. It is believed that this video was made a few days before Tejaswini’s murder.
Another tragic love-related case has emerged from Surat’s Varachha area. On Thursday morning, a 17-year-old girl in Nana Varachha consumed poison and ended her life.
She had gone to the bathroom and collapsed after consuming pesticide meant for wheat storage. Her family members immediately rushed her to a private hospital, where she succumbed during treatment.
Before passing away, the girl told the doctor that a person named Nilesh had told her, “Go die.” She had referred to Nilesh as her “husband.” The police have now filed a case against Nilesh for abetment to suicide.
